NCSE Photography Contest

NCSE Photography Contest

Photographer taking a photo of a sunsetIn today’s world, where environmental challenges have grown more complex, the risks greater, and the stakes higher, the role of science in environmental decision-making remains as essential as ever. The environment and human society are deeply coupled systems, and the future decisions society must make are changing each day. The NCSE mission is to improve the scientific basis of environmental decision-making and ensure environmental decisions are based on an accurate understanding of the underlying science.

In alignment with the NCSE mission and the 30th anniversary of the organization, NCSE is initiating this photography contest to invite photographers, artists, and scientific photographers to share their most inspired work. Contest participants should submit photographs that demonstrate their interpretation of how science is used in service to the environment and society. Submitted photographs can reflect the balance between science and decision-making, humans and nature, ecosystem science, space science, and sustainability, as some examples.
