Micaela Hyams is the Science Policy Intern at NCSE. In her role, she works closely with the Science Policy Director to expand NCSE’s capacity at the nexus of science and decision-making. She also supports the Executive Director’s work on the Governor’s Accord for a New Energy Future.
Prior to her work with NCSE, Micaela worked in Environmental Education, most recently in Denali National Park and Preserve as the Lead Science Educator for Alaska Geographic. She has also been fortunate enough to work with young people in Western North Carolina as an AmeriCorps Project Conserve member at RiverLink, and a naturalist with Muddy Sneakers.
Micaela received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Political Science with a Biology minor from the University of Oregon. She plans to pursue a law degree in the fall and concentrate in Environmental Law.
