Krista Hiser is the senior fellow for community colleges at NCSE. She is currently a professor of composition and rhetoric at Kapiʻolani Community College. She has published on service-learning, community engagement, organizational change, and post-apocalyptic and cli-fi literature. Currently serving as director of the University of Hawai‘i System Center for Sustainability Across Curriculum, her work is to facilitate change management, coordinate sustainability across the curriculum, and facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue and professional development opportunities for faculty interested in teaching sustainability, climate change, and resilience. She received her doctorate degree in educational administration, focused on higher education for sustainable development, from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
