Alberto Parenti is the senior fellow for sustainable development goals at NCSE. He currently serves as an official of the Environmental Department of the European Commission. In this capacity, he has coordinated a wide range of sustainable development initiatives on water and waste management, nature conservation, adaptation to climate change, and sustainable consumption and production. Prior to his work at the European Commission, he was an advisor for the International Union for the Conservation of Nature supporting the implementation of nature conservation programs in South America and Europe. He started his international career in Ethiopia with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization managing a portfolio of sustainable industrial development projects. Alberto received his doctorate degree in international economic law from the Bocconi University in Milan.
